Pervasive PSQL v11 SP1  Downloads Available

Pervasive Engineering has released Pervasive PSQL v11 SP1 and it is now available for download. Even if you've checked out the beta release, you will want to download PSQL v11 SP1 because there are some great features that we have added since the beta release. Here is a list of reasons why you should update your PSQL v11 databases to SP1, or at least check out the latest version:

What's New in Pervasive PSQL v11 SP1?
  • Improved License Management. The number of allowed authorizations has been doubled to 10 and a Remaining Authorizations counter has been added to the PSQL License Administrator to help you keep track. A new Failed Authorization key state has been added (keys now move from Active to Failed Validation to Disabled) along with a 14-day "grace period" to correct any issues before the key becomes disabled. A Pervasive Notification Viewer has been added to keep users informed of any changes in key state. Learn more.
  • 64-bit ODBC for Linux. Pervasive PSQL v11 SP1 installs 64-bit ODBC drivers with PSQL Linux Servers and Clients.
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Support. PSQL v11 SP1 now includes support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, 5, and 6.
  • MAC OS X Support. PSQL v11 SP1 supports Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6. This is a product exclusively for OEM customers and provides 64-bit Btrieve and 64-bit DTI API's.
  • 64-bit DTO. Distributed Tuning Objects (DTO) is now supported in 64-bit (including the .NET framework)
  • PDAC Support for RAD Studio XE. Get direct access to the Pervasive PSQL database engine via Embarcadero's newest IDE - RAD Studio XE.
  • Updated VB.NET Sample Application. Check out the updated sample application for Btrieve with VB.NET
  • Performance Monitoring Counters. We have added PSQL specific performance counters to Windows Performance Monitor so developers and support staff can do a better job of analyzing and tuning application performance. Learn more about how to make your PSQL v11 application really perform
  • Updated PSQL Server and Workgroup Installation. Pervasive PSQL v11 SP1 includes support for Windows firewall profiles.
  • New System Catalog and Scalar functions. Learn more
  • Pervasive System Analyzer. Now includes support for named and numeric IPv6 addresses.

Pervasive PSQL v11 - We're Certified!

                       

This just in: Pervasive PSQL v11 is now part of two very important programs. PSQL v11 is now Certified for Windows 2008 R2 and is VMware Ready. Both of these programs require software to go through rigorous testing to make sure that the application (or in our case, database) works well in these environments.

If you are using WIndows Server 2008 R2 or VMware (or both together), you can be comfortable in the knowledge that Pervasive PSQL will run just fine in both environments. After  years  of Pervasive PSQL compatibility with all of the key technology platforms, you would not expect anything less.

Get Ready for Pervasive PSQL Vx Beta

If you use Pervasive PSQL on a virtual machine, get ready for the beta version of PSQL Vx. Downloads of the beta version will be made available in the next several weeks. This brand new product will answer many of the questions customers have been asking about PSQL in a virtual environment. Expect another newsletter soon and keep checking the website. New Licensing Administration Features in PSQL v11 SP1

Pervasive PSQL v11 SP1 has some new licensing features that will do a lot to help users keep their database running. The key features are:
  • The number of product key authorizations has doubled to 10.
  • A Remaining Authorization Counter has been added to the PSQL License Administrator.
  • A new Failed Validation product key state has been added along with time to fix licensing issues before a key becomes disabled.
  • The Pervasive Notification Viewer alerts users to changes in product key state.
