PSQL v9 Service Pack 2, Update 1 Now Available as HotFix
For all PSQL v9 users, Update 1 for Service Pack 2 is now available and can be downloaded from the Pervasive website. It's now easier than ever to apply patches to your PSQL installation because everything is delivered in a single executable file for either Windows or NetWare.
Instead of applying patches one component at a time, Pervasive Support now delivers Updates in a setup.exe file that launches with a Wizard that manages the install. (Updates for Linux distribution are delivered in .tar and .rpm formats.) The setup.exe file contains updates for all PSQL components, including: Client, Workgroup, and Server. The Wizard identifies the PSQL components on your system and patches the existing install bringing your Pervasive PSQL installation to the very latest patch level available. Jim Beecher and team take v10 on the road, around the globe!
The past few months have been non-stop for Product Manager Jim Beecher and his team. First there was the eagerly anticipated and highly successful launch of Pervasive PSQL v10 in September, followed in October and November by a eight -city whirlwind tour themed "Where Art (or History) Meets Technology" to introduce Pervasive PSQL Summit v10 to interested parties in some of the world's most finest museums. And now the team is starting to work on the next revision of v10! We managed to grab Jim by telephone just as he was traveling throughout Europe, and asked him to tell us how the tour's been going.
And get a full road show recap in December! Look for a December recap of the Pervasive Summit PSQLv10 tour of the U.S. and Europe. We plan to share the insights and impressions customers provided on the new release. Not only that, Jim will discuss the year from his unique perspective.

PSQL v10 Xtreme I/O reduces time on reads/writes;

Pervasive PSQL Summit v10 Xtreme I/O (XIO) accelerates the I/O of database files. XIO takes advantage of SMP (symmetric multiprocessing) for applications with large data sets, reducing the time required for reads and writes. This new technology feature allows users to maximize performance through an advanced caching mechanizes that extends memory utilization while reducing disk latency caused by I/O.
