OEMs lining up for Pervasive PSQL Summit v10
More than 35 Pervasive OEMs worldwide – including AIDA Geschäftsführungs-Organisationssysteme GmbH, CYMA Accounting Software, Global Shop Solutions and NETcellent Systems, Inc.–have deployed the product to customers since its launch in September 2007.
Pervasive Database Products General Manager Gilbert Van Cutsem had this to say, "In the six months since its launch, Pervasive PSQL Summit v10 has seen the fastest channel adoption of any version of PSQL. For the month of March, PSQL v10 shipment rates exceeded those of PSQL v9, demonstrating rapid uptake among our PSQL channel partners, who traditionally adopt at a measured pace.”
Reasons for the strong adoption pace are many. For one, Pervasive PSQL Summit™ v10 is compatible with both Red Hat Enterprise Linux and SUSE Linux Enterprise platforms (32- and 64-bit), as well as Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista including SP1. PSQL Summit v10 creates greater usability and control for customers' and partners' critical database functions. As more and more users migrate to the latest operating system technologies, seamless support is essential to ensuring customers and partners can achieve a full return on their investments. In addition to increased platform support, Pervasive PSQL Summit v10 also gives partners and their customers:
- Enhanced Xtreme I/O—symmetric multi-processing with large data sets accelerates the I/O of database files and reduces time required for reads and writes
- The Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP) v3.3 framework
- Support for High Availability Linux-HA clustering
- Updated security portfolio including Pervasive Backup Agent™ and Pervasive DataExchange™ to provide compliance support and auditing, backup reliability, and replication

Change Data Capture Survey results
Last month’s survey results showed a fifty/fifty split between companies that currently have an API for capturing and delivering change information to other applications and those who don’t. Some 66% cite customers as the source of demand for the information, with the remainder being split between internal demand and the capability being seen as strategic.

Pervasive® DataExchange™ and Pervasive Backup Agent™ are ready for 64-bit, Windows Server® 2008 and Windows Vista™ with the v10.10 update, which is now in beta.
Pervasive DataExchange allows real-time backup and maintains a warm backup database, transparent to your daily operations, can replicate to another machine or even another location.
Pervasive Backup Agent intelligently manages your database during backups, ensures that your files are in a known state and that your backup can work even if users are still in the system, and is transparent to users.
Pervasive AuditMaster audits your database activity. It allows you to see “before” and “after” images of database activity as well as set alerts to let you know when changes occur.
*At this time, Pervasive AuditMaster is not available in a 64-bit edition.
